Went to Anchorage on a last minute trip. Spent some quality time with KAAK chasing sockeye and king salmon. No luck on the fish, but Bry showed me some pretty cool hangouts in Anchorage that were definitely photo worthy.

If you're interested, I'm sure Bry can hook you up

Here's Bry's old hangout in Anchorage

Some of the photos didn't come out as well as I'd hoped, but again, this was bout 5:30 in the morning after being up all night. It never did get dark.

We had a great time, in spite of not catching fish =)

WOW !!! Cool pictures.

Thanks Gregg,
It still looks cold there, isn’t it summer at the moment. :D
Ian.

Got to love the Mofo!!!!! Glad you guys could link up man. It was good Bryan had a hog to hang with since he couldn't be with us. Maybe next year brother!

We had a BLAST! We spoke with Jerry, ThatMGuy and Eric while we were there. Highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Really wish we could have been in Atlanta, but we were with ya'll in spirit!:D

Ian, it is summer in AK, but there was still lots of snow in the mountains. Bryan told me summer lasts from mid June until mid August.....starts turning into winter pretty quickly after that!

over the past couple of months, i've seen pretty much the same amount of tanker a's come up as i have groove masters... something like 2 or 3 of each in the past year. so it seems like they have about the same after market availability. i dont know if that will be true in a year, or exactly how many groove masters sold, compared to the limited amount of tanker a's.... though... there is the combat 4 wich is basically the same thing wich may add to the tanker a supply....

does the combat for have a slightly taller blade then the tanker a?

seems like their both getting rare at this point.....

Hey, that's my double secret INFI shop. Too bad I didn't know a Busse fan was stopping by, I would have made it a point to be there.

Went to Alaska in 98 - Loved it. Sister-in-Law & her Husband work at Denali Park. Went Fishing at Kenai Ford, Drinking in Anchorage, and Hiking in Denali. Cessna Trips around Mt. Mckinley are a bad idea after a night of drinking.

Got a forged blade there from a place called IRBI Knives. If you ever stop in the guy's shop you will see a 101st Airborne Coin I got them.

Thanks for helping us make the connection. We had a great time chatting with several of you hogs at Blade on the way down to Kenai!

Theosis - sorry to have missed you too.....but it was a last minute trip.

Does someone have a photo of a Tanker A?

Great pics! My Aunt and Uncle went on vacation in Alaska three years ago and they still talk about it, said their going to move their when they retire.

Man, I wish there was a knife store like that where I live. The only places that sell knives here have milk two ilses over, and bread three ilses over.
