Alaskan Guide Fillet knife

The very concept is so ridiculous that the knife is destined to be a rare collectible one day.

I still haven't bought one and probably won't.

I like to get such things cheap and more toward the end of that cycle.

:)

Looking for more reviews on this knife if anyone has any.

How does the s30v flex?

Thanks -Gary

I have 2 AG 110s and an AG Vanguard.I really like the Buck AG models.I wouldn't think the s30v would be the way to go if you want a blade that will flex.

I am an avid fisherman and go to Alaska every other year for 2 weeks during the summer to fish for Salmon. Virtually none of the Guides use a high dollar fillet knife.

It's no coincidence that Cabela's Description of the AG S30V fillet knife says nothing about flexibility. I use a Buck 229 and have cleaned hundreds of Sockeyes with it. Keeps an edge well and sharpens very good with a cheap field sharpener. Save your money on the AG fillet knife.

Thanks for the replies.

Could make for a mighty fine boning knife for hunting with the premium steel. Id have to see it in hand though !!

It doesnt sound like anyone here has actually handeled the knife ?

Most of us have good boning knives and probably wouldn't buy.....unless it went on clearance at 75% off.

Might end up being a rare collectible some day.
