Looking very forward to purchasing an AG Mini Alpha and AG 110 from Cabelas. I was reading a review on the Mini Alpha and was surprised when the reviewer mentioned that the coating on the Mini Alpha is not the Black Widow DLC as advertised. This review stated that the current coating is different and not as sturdy.

My question: Is this true and if so, does it apply to the 110 also. One of the reasons I want these knives if that from what I understand, the Black Widow DLC is supposed to be very resistant to scratching and has received rave reviews in the past. I see it as a major incentive to purchasing these knives, not to mention that I think it looks beautiful too.

Thanks in advance.

I have just about all of the Cabelas AG Buck Knives, except the mini alpha. All have the same titanium aluminum nitride coating and are beautiful and scratch resistant. The mini alpha has the same coating. My favorites are the Rosewood Vanguard and Alpha Hunter (both fixed and folder).

Both Cabelas and Buck will stand behind the AG knives if defective.

Go ahead and get one, they are great knives and the coating is super durable,my buddy has the AG mini alpha, and it has done a lot of work since he got it,the coating is still mint, the emblem of the ram head is worn off,but these knives are users and we do just that with them.
