I took about 500 photos of Alayna's Trackrock adventure, so with all else going on in my life it took me a while to get it sorted out. But I finally got the pics sorted and wanted to share them. It was truly an awesome adventure and Alayna had a blast. She did get annoyed with me because she didn't get to forge, so in the autumn I will need to sort out someone helping me with keeping an eye on her during that so that I can still be able to capture other things happening.

We packed a lot of different supplies, then hit the road

We stopped for coffee and Hot Chocolate where we turned off 75 and left civilization :)

The trip was a long enough she started getting bored with it, so I had to keep her awake messing with her lol

But we finally got there, and due to not being able to find my tent...I was very gratefull to Allen and Phillip for letting us borrow their couches, it made the stay so much better for us.

As soon as she woke up, Alayna started hollering she was hungry. I really wasn't, so I made breakfast for Alayna and Phillip, and snagged just a little of Alayna's for myself :) The Bushfinger did a fine job of the prep work of course.

I was panicking thinking I had left the Esquire behind...I was still half asleep... but the Bushboot did a fine job of the consumption part :) I did find the Esquire later though.

Then the adventure that was Trackrock on Saturday began. Alayna really dug getting to check out the raw materials that are used in making knives. I was glad to see her really getting into the idea. I have to approach the next one differently now that I know more about how things go there.

I enjoyed watching Andy and Allen shaping the forged knbives on the grinders, and seeing the looks on the kids faces as their forgings came to life.

Alayna had never gone horseback riding before, so I couldn't resist taking her on a trail ride. The horse we rode were awesome, and our guide Lauren was fantastic.

Great thread! Thank you for sharing your adventure w/ us. It must mean more than words can describe to be able to share an experience like that w/ Alayna.

Awesome Brian !! You made some wonderful memories with Alayna and it looked like she had a blast!!. I really enjoyed the thread ! Thank you very much for the look

Looks like you two had a great weekend! The trail ride looks like a lot of fun!

Thanks for sharing Brian. I started opening this on my phone over the weekend and quickly thought "I had better wait until I have wifi and a PC" :-)

Lots of great pics! Sometimes you can see the "Oh Dad" look on her face but I'll bet she'll be glad to have all these memories captured.

Thanks guys!! I'm really glad you enjoyed the post!! Alayna and I had a blast! I have committed myself to being there this autumn, I told Alayna she will get to forge something next time and she will hold me to that :) Getting to do things like this with her mean more to me than I can say. My dad and I were always off on some sort of adventure on the weekends, so I try to keep that tradition going with Alayna. Some times it's just long wanders through the woods or through town because we don't have a lot of money, but we do have a lot of fun.

Cheers to a great time that both of you had. It's adventures like this that make beautiful memories that last a lifetime.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed the post! It was a blast, and we're looking forward to the next one in the autumn!

Yeah, some of those looks were due to it being "that time" which I didn't even know until we were already down there, but she's a good girl, and she's pretty tough, so it doesn't effect things too much with her...she just gets a bit grumpy at times. Hell...I get grumpy, so I can deal with that :)

Glad you both made it down and back safely. And...that you had a great time. I'm surprised Alayna did not get to do any forging, but I just couldn't keep up with all the kids that did or didn't. Our last rough count after talking to the fellas set up outside, was between 35-40 kids getting to hit something hot. It was a great crowd.

I did get to watch her do a little scrimming with Kathy, before I got called to the "other side".
Be looking for you guys in the fall. Last weekend in Sept. 29/30

Thanks Carl, we had a blast!! It was all my fault she didn't get to forge, because I didn't plan that out or think it through. I'll remedy that in the autumn. She had fun scrimming :)
