i need to know if the svea stove that comes with the swedish messkit set is the same size as a trangia or if i could make a stand and windscreen for it and will a trangia simmer ring work on it
 
I really don't know, I bought one of those kits and then gave it to a friend for christmas.

I do have a trangia, I can tell you the measurements and you can compare it to the svea? Chris
 
According to my calipers, across the base is 2.730", inside edge to inside edge of the burner hole is 1.553", outside edge to outside edge of the threads where the simmer ring fits is 2.137"

All commercial Trangia burners are the same size.

The Swedish military burners are larger. Both Svea and Trangia have made burners for the Army outfit.

The simmer ring and rubber lid gaskets for the Commercial model do not fit the military burner. If a replacement seal for a military lid is needed, scrounge up an "O" ring in a Hardware, Plumbing or Auto store. They usually have boxes of assorted sizes.

A simmer ring to use with the military model can be made from some flat aluminum. Arrange it so it can cover some of the burner holes.
