As said in the title. I’ve got some L6 I bought from Aldo 4 years ago. I’m making Charpy toughness samples for Larrin. Do I need to normalize and thermal cycle, or is it ready to heat treat as is? The 15n20 was ready to go, but some 1084, all 52100, and most W2 and 80crv2 needed normalizing and thermal cycling.
If it needs normalizing, no big deal, but I forgot to throw it in the kiln tonight with 20 other pieces that are cycling. I can do another cycle, but if it doesn’t need it I’ll save some time.
