Some of the knives I've sent out over the last few months have had really flat aluminum screws (bright, "naked" aluminum that uses a flat head screwdriver) holding the sheath together. The screws are fine, and they do their job, but they are obnoxious and kind of ugly, in my opinion. I FINALLY found the type of screw I've wanted to use on sheaths (just took me 6 years), which is a round head, black screw that uses an Allen (hex) wrench.

If you received a sheath with the aluminum screws and would like to replace them with the new ones, just drop me an email with your address and I'll send a few out your way. I keep good records (just not on what sheaths with what hardware went where), so if you email trying to be sneaky for free screws, it won't work! ;)

If you want to replace the screws, but don't want to bother getting these ones from me, the thread size is 8-32, so any 8-32 screw will work (assuming the head is big enough to make it past the 13/64" hole).

I dont have any of your knives or sheaths, but I did just see your site for the first time.

The fusion hunter looks like a really slick little knife...I like it.
The orange peeler is kinda neat too.

Thats a nice gesture! It is refreshing to see someone offering an upgrade. Where is your site? I would like to drop in & browse around. Thanks!

Check the bottom of Chiro's post, where it says "Knife freaks click here".
:p

Well, thanks for the compliments, but I just wish I'd had the hardware I wanted before I sent some out with the Al screws. :barf: Oh well. Most of them went out with black oxide flat heads, but a few snuck out with the bright aluminum ones, so I don't want pics of those circulating around! :p
You know what kills me the most? I've honestly been looking for these new screws, probably once a week for about an hour at a time, online for years. I'm not exaggerating, either. I finally decided to email a couple screw places and they all sent replies to the tune of "Oh yeah, we have those. They just aren't on our site..." I went to every local place, Fastenal, every website in Creation, you name it. Now everyone has them, and I just had to ask. :grumpy: Sheesh.

Steve....

Six years!!!

Holy cow..

Should have dropped me a note...

I use stainless mil spec Black Ox phillips head...

The way I look at it is,,if someone needs to make an adjustment in the field most anyone can wrangle up a phillips head driver from a SAK or multi tool. Not many people have a specialty allen or Torx driver set on them.

ttyle

Eric....

Yeah, I didn't really think about that until they came in and I went "shoot, that was stupid." They're still a step in the right direction. Just need to make 100 sheaths or so, then I can switch again! :D The hardware didn't become a priority until the last couple months, so I wasn't desperate until recently. I was using black oxide Phillip's head flat heads, but they are a PITA because they don't sit flush on the sheath's surface, so I was always shaving a little off the length of the posts, etc. My next generation of sheaths will have round head, phillip's drive black oxide screws that are 1/4 or 3/16" long, so if you know of where I can get those, let me know now! :D
