I've been looking for some history and information surrounding Alex Daniels knives and there is not a whole lot out there that I could find. Thought I'd post these up here for the next person looking for pictures and information and see if anyone had some tidbits. As far as I know, every knife in my collection is circa late 80s or early 90s. Original purchaser was a friend of my fathers who gifted these to him before he past away in the early 90s. I have cleaned up a few as best I could with elbow grease, some will need a little extra work from a machine/buffer. I have quite a few and will post extra pictures when I get more cleaned up.

These are beautiful in person and heavy handed with a 3/8 tang. I assume they are more show pieces than a useful tool. Link below should take you to a small album

Hi,

The magazine with the most info on him is Blade, April 1988. 1980's - very early 90's sounds about right, by the early 90's he was really transitioning into a Bowie knife maker focusing on historic reproductions. The knives could be 440c, 154cm, or D2, If I had to guess, I'd go 440c, he used it a lot. He was also a bit well know for dealing in heat treating supplies, etc....

As you know, he was a famous maker, but there isn't a huge amount out there on him. Once he got into the historical repro market, the knives sorta sold themselves.
