I am looking for any store that carries Alfred Zanger knives.
I have a serrated kitchen knife that I purchased several years ago and now the kitchen store has gone out of business.
I have searched the net and nothing shows up--any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you

It doesn't look like anyone responded to your question posted in February 2002. So five & a half years later, here's an answer:

The Alfred Zanger Company used to import high-end cutlery from Europe. In 1987, Alfred Zanger sold his business. The new owner kept the Zanger Co. name and continued to sell the existing stock until it sold out in 1989.

The current Zanger Co. (Suffield, CT) specializes in handmade Polish ceramics.

In other words, Zanger has not sold knives in almost 20 years. If you want a Zanger knife, you'll have to search the secondary markets (eBay, etc.).

I stumbled upon this while trying to find some info on an Alfred Zanger kitchen knife (made in Portugal) I inherited from my mother. "Alfred Zanger knives" sounds vaguely familiar -- like something I heard a long time ago. Alas, like so much we used to know, they no longer exist.

I hope this is better late than never, but here it goes:

As north127 posted, Zanger Co. in Suffield, CT DOES specialize in Polish Stoneware. However, since every female member of my family is infatuated with the stoneware, I happen to know that this company still has some Zanger knives left in their inventory (first hand knowledge...received a Zanger paring knife for Christmas). My mother said they had a few boxes of three different sizes, the largest of which I believe is the serrated knife.
