Just received this conductor in a trade. Immediately slid it into my pocket.
This is much more pocketable, very nice fit and finish. A little spongy opening (my uneducated opinion), I'm still going to enjoy carrying and using it.
Buffalo horn #33:

Congrats! It's a beauty.

I really didn't care for the conductor pattern at first but the more I see it I'm getting drawn toward it....mmmm I knew it would be dangerous to hang around in this subforum. ;)

Thanks for sharing the pic.

Thanks, I'm really excited to have it. The buffalo horn handles have a lot of depth. Definitely heirloom quality. Worked a little oil into the joints and it seems to be helping the snap open.

Nice score, its size lends it to the edc role well I am sure. The one I wanted was snatched by another, gotta be quick on the draw around these parts. Enjoy that little beauty hunter.

Mine arrives tomorrow: a Northfield with stag covers and a secondary coping blade. I was originally looking for a 3.25" jack, what I've come to appreciate as my preferred pattern. The Conductor gives me essentially the same length in a thinner single-spring package, but with the advantage of a coping blade. I love the F&f of GEC, love the long pull and threaded, dimpled bolsters of the Northfield Conductors. I think we're gonna enjoy our new knives! :)

Wow, a Northfield that came without a bail. I've got one in ebony, but I couldn't stand the bail, so I took it off and now love it! I'm not a fan of smooth buffalo, as it just looks like plastic to me, but that buffalo you've got really has some nice character to it. Congrats!

Humppa, your review is what made me decide to complete the trade, thanks for that!
Sonny, Thanks for sharing yours, I really like the classic ebony as well!
The horn on this knife is exceptional compared to others I've seen. Thank you everyone for your responses, if you can't tell I'm excited about this trade.
I at first was disappointed there wasn't a bail on this one, however after carrying it today, I'm thinking I like it just the way it is.
It fits perfectly in the key pocket of my jeans, Bonus!

That's one beautiful 33 my friend! I've searched high and low but never was able to get my hands on that particular Conductor, nice snag.

Any tips for getting the bail off? Not sure what I'll want to do with mine.
Hi Robb. I'm no expert, just desperate, but all I did was clip the posts flush, then peen them down a bit to recess them into the hole. I had searched the forum to see if anyone else had done it, but the closest I found was in regards to a White Owl. Someone in that post wondered if the posts for the bail shared the same joint as the pivot for the blade, and they look close, so I decided not to try extricating the posts. The knife is still quite solid, and the evidence does'nt look too bad to my eyes. Most importantly though, is that I now have a nice smooth knife that slides effortlessly into pocket. My knives end up like worry beads in my pocket and I'm constantly fidgeting with them, so I like a nice smooth knife.
Cheers,
Jim

Thanks for the description SonnyJim! I may do that to mine. I'll have to give it some pocket time as is, and then decide.
