Just thought I'd give the folks that live in the Vegas area a heads up that Saturday November 8th is the Annual Southern Nevada AMC Club Show. It will be held 9am to 3pm at the Hacienda Hotel and Casino in Boulder City, Nevada. I will be there with my 74 Javelin. I've donated a Small Sabertooth folder to the club as a door prize. If you've got a few minutes drop by, give us a look and maybe win a door prize.

Man, wish I could be there. I'm definitely an AMC fan. Had several police and FBI Matadors in the late 70s.
Last week in Houston I was passed by a spotless 69 AMX, green with white racing stripes! What a car they were.
Enjoy!!!

This is the car I will be showing.

That is gorgeous! You should be proud of that one!
One of my neighbors had a purple '74 called Travelin Javelin. Probably a common name for them but I loved it.
They were much better built than anyone ever gave them credit for.

I'm hoping your meaning November 8,otherwise you missed it.Nice Javelin anyway.

Oh Freakin' Sweet. I was the proud owner of 2 AMCs. One was a '74 Matador and the other was a Hornet- probably a '73. Used to get joked for my "Mopar No Car", but I didn't care. The Matador was sweet- looked like a pregnant Camaro & had front seats that reclined all the way back- I had a little 18-year-old nymphet for a GF at the time, so pretty much any place where we could stop the car & put the Michelobs in the back seat was the place to be... Exhaust manifolds were blown so it sounded like the Apocalypse rolling down the street.
The Hornet I sort-of inherited from my grandmother. The radio was broken, the seats springs were shot, but it ran forever.
Also dated a girl w/ a purple Gremlin. The coolest.

AMCs were the most overlooked muscle cars of the era. I still remember the Hornet James Bond did the barrel roll over the bridge in "The Man with the Golden Gun".

a bud had a similar one, except it had white stripes, was a AMX 390 4spd and had a holley 3 bbl on it, yes thats right a 3 bbl carb, 950 CFM IIRC, if nothing else it drank a lotta gas lol, not a biggie when gas was 20 cents a gallon though.

ran pretty fair too, had headers, different cam, 3.90 gears, it ran ok.

another bud had a 390 gremlin with a buncha stuff, which was IIRC a rare car even then, which he wrecked, woulda been worth some bucks today i would think, either one of them, at least a lot for a rambler lol.

I think their styling was too quirky, it was love it or hate it. MY one AMC weakness is their 4X4 station wagon, way ahead of its time.

That is one sweet car! I always dug the Javelins and AMX's myself. Definitely an under appreciated car.

I don't think I've seen one of those on the road for over 10 years. How often do you take her out on the road? I have a '72 Ford Torino myself. I try to drive it about once a month.

I think I saw on the History Channel a show about police cars. I think one of the police cars they showcased was an AMC Javelin!

I take it out several times a month. The Alabama State Patrol drove some 72 Javelins as pursuit vehicles.

I took 1ST place in my class "71-74 Javelin"

Those are great pics..
Gotta be honest, I'm not a big AMC fan but its always nice to see people keepin the older cars runnin. Definetely some nice cars there.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing, it's great to see that so many of the AMXs and Javelins survived. I had a few Hornets and Matadors that would have fit right in.

some nice AMX's for sure.

they can have the pacers and americans though, never have liked those at all.

Real nice Javelin!
I see a 69 Rambler Scrambler in its red, white, and blue B paint scheme. Real rare one.

They bring back memories! The pics of the station wagons reminds me of going with my cousins to Florida when I was 5. We rode in the back of the station wagon - no seat belts, no car seats. You'd get arrested for stuff like that nowadays.
