You guys know about the KaBar app? I never tried it until recently. The knife designing part of it is pretty cool.

Ever wanted to feel half as talented as the Warrior? Now is your chance. Get it free at google play.

I really wish KaBar made the peanut butter grips for the big Beckers. Would it really be that hard? They

already make the color for the tweeners.

I was so disappointed in those bright colored handles they released for the big boys.

Come on at least a brown or OD green please.

Check this out. I sure wish K9Handler was still around. He could make this.

very cool i would buy that 5. i am a minority in that decision many people here buy the five regardless i just don't like the look of it.

I would consider this 5, but the actual 5 has some bits I don't like, such as the gap between handle and blade edge.

I didn't care for the looks of it either at first, but it grew on me.

I always thought the choil looked large too. It actually fits my hand pretty dang good. I could make feathers just as easily using the handle grip, as I could choking up on the choil. It really is a hell of a blade.

BTW, pretty cool rendering.

Glad you guys like it.

Thank you. Would be pretty proud of my self if i didn't need the KaBar app to do it. :D

I always pictured The 5 in my head without the choil. It looks even better when I see it rendered.

Download GIMP. It's free. Google GIMP tutorials, and go from there. It's what I did to get started. I started out making themes for MP4 players. You know, different backgrounds, icons, etc.

The 5 looks awesome without the choil.

I feel that way as well, but was lucky enough to win one at the first Gathering I attended in 2014. I really haven't played with it enough to give comment. I've used it some, just not a lot.....I have kitchen knives I love, and the 15 suits me better for camp food prep.....unless I'm cutting up a 12 lb. pork loin:

Maus: that thing looks positively BURLY without all the wasted real estate. More of a fighter look to it. Mikey likey.

This reminds me I need to buy another 5, because I'm planning on heavily modding mine. I wasn't really expecting them to disco it...

Yeah, I was going to mention that the 5 you have designed is quite different (choil-less). Personally, I'm not a fan of choils, so this one appeals to me more than the real 5. Although, the one above has a shorter OAL length, which would change the balance/etc quite a bit. I think I might prefer one with the same OAL and still no choil (if I was the one in charge of designing anyway).

Still, nice work :).

And GiMP is great. I started out with an old copy of photoshop, then when that computer died I had to get a free alternative. Gimp isn't quite as intuitive at first (or maybe just because I started with photoshop), but once you get the hang of it it works great :). If you're not feeling quite up to Gimp, you can try paint.net, which has some of the more powerful features of gimp (layers mostly), but still a fairly simple interface. Think of it as a midpoint between microsoft paint and gimp/photoshop, which can make it a good stepping stone for those intimidated by the more powerful options.
