About 6 months ago I posted on the main forum asking about a knife for my wife. I said it should be little and tanto and tactical cause she thought that was cool. Well yesterday she finally found what she was looking for. it is not little or tanto but it is a bit tactical. She took over my Military Plain edge. I have it razor sharp and for some reason when she was cooking she grabbed it from me and started using it. "holy crap i've been cutting food with can openers until now" she said. She couldn't believe how well it cut up the steak, onions, lettuice, tomatoes and cilantro. She was kinda mad and then counted her kitchen set which includes about 10 knives and cost around 100 dollars. she wanted to know how come i spend $100 on a knife that i use a couple of times a day but she has a set of knives that average $10 a knife that she uses at least twice a day every day. My knife hater wife is SOLD ON THE MILITARY! thanks Spyderco.

Nice story! :) I'm thinking of gettin a Military asap, damn why does they have to be so expensive (here in Europe), I can get 2 Enduras for the same price!

If you want to really blow her mind, get her the Spyderco Kitchen Utility knife in MBS-26 (IIRC). IIRC, I paid less than $20 and it cuts forever. Ours has even taken a nice patina to the blade (cutting very acidic foods).

Brandon,
I’m not surprised at all! Military is my favorite Tactical Kitchen Folding Knife (the term TKK – tactical kitchen knife - is Joe Talmadge’s registered trademark :) ) and I use it pretty frequently in this role.

However I have some idea how to recover your Military from your wife. Just buy a set of SPYDERCO or Fällkniven kitchen stuff ;)

I finally jumped on the Mili band wagon! I own or have owned just about every other Spydie, but this PE Mili is my favorite. I can't believe how light it is for it's size. I love the flat grind too. Not many folders have that.
