I recently sold a Sage 2. It was a lovely knife and very good for the money. But I just couldn't get on with it and knew that it was something that I would never EDC.

In return I picked up a UKPK, Fenix e15 flashlight and still have funds left over for something else.

I had a UKPK prior to this but ironically traded it to get a different Ti Framelock. I instantly regretted it but I had made the deal. Ti Framelocks have that appeal to me. But I havn't found one yet that I would EDC. I don't keep very many knives so I have to be able to EDC whatever I pick up on my own principal that knives are tools. This of course is different for everyone. But I feel like the chickens have come home or so to speak. Everything about the UKPK feels right to me, the same way that Delica and Caly feel right in my hands.

I like the blue scales too and will gladly not trade or sell this one again. I feel the same way about the trapper pattern and peanut in the photo too. They're very perfect in what they are or at least for my uses. The Peanut while underknifed in many instances is so small that it carries great in the pocket and really is unobtrusive enough to be in my pocket 7 days a week. And the trapper is a deft slicer for general knife duties. Nothing too overbuilt and just the right amount of knife for regular everyday cutting.

It's not exactly an exciting knife purchase but it's the right one for me!

CTS-BD1, my old one was Gin1. Not the greatest of steels but worked good enough. Eager to check out what the CTS can do. It also could have been my inability to sharpen that particular drop point shape too, not going to lie. The thought crossed my mind!.

I could get it sharp enough to cut paper but not sharp enough to pop hairs off my arm. Not that that is really a good test for sharpness! Sometimes too fine an edge is bad too! I really do love the UKPK though. Have you ever thought about or do you have the Caly? I'm thinking about it but not sure if it would be redundant or not since they are so similar.

I've thought about it, but I'm trying to stick with the folders made in Golden. I live in Boulder, so these are pretty cool to have. That's part of the reason I love the UKPK!
