All metal Western axe (black & Silver)

I have acquired a Western all-metal ax whose handle is alternating bands of black and silver. An I-beam connects the hanlde to the blade. it's quite distinctive and also came in sets with a sheath knife with the same tyoe of handle. (A fellow forumite pointed out that a set is for sale on ePray as of this posting.)

Can anyone give me the range of age of the axe?
 
Hi Thomas, those combos are sweet! I think those were made in the 50's. Could have been the 60's also. Depending on the model. I have a western with the same handle that was made in tha early 50's. Great steel. I'm sure some one will come along shortly to give you a better idea on it's age.

Your western axe is a Black Beauty model. These were introduced by Western around 1960 and 4 knives and an axe were offered.
