........NAIL CLIPPERS!!! bwahahahaha!!!!

i got bored this afternoon, i'm wating for a customer's iBook to clone it's hard drive to my backup drive so i can replace the drive with a bigger one, i have my Sharpmaker beside me, and a set of nail clippers in the drawer.....

i decide "what the heck", grab a brown rod and the clippers, put a utility edge back on them, then i get an even crazier idea, i grab the *white* rods, and go to town on them, by the time i'm done, the outer edge of the clippers is *dramatically* sharper than it originally was, and cuts through fingernails like they're not even there....

...hey, c'mon, give me a break here, i was bored... ;)
 
I have sharpened nail clippers as well. It's kind of a funny thing but it's easy to do and is actually useful, I swear!
 
I've sharpened mine, too.

Straight ended ones are easy, but try the curved ones. Some of those take some finesse.
 
LOL as silly as it sounds (and yes you sound very silly) I am really tempted to do the same thing and probably eventually will now that you've planted the evil seed in my brain. All my nail clippers are going to seem inferior now! They must be sharpened! Bwuhahaha.... :D
 
Way to go MacTech! Now get a stupid-sharp edge on your vegetable peelers!

I sharpened my cats' nail clippers with the Sharpmaker hones and the difference it makes is why I'm still alive to type about it.

I put an edge on my wife's vegetable peelers too. A few minites works improves performance. Carefull though, word travels fast. Wife's friends want their knives and kitchen tools done too. I just wish I could lern to put a better edge on my edc's .

I feel kind of dumb for asking, but.... I have a sharpmaker and I know how to sharpen a knife, but. How do you sharpen nail clippers with it?

Sal makes it look pretty easy on the DVD -- using the corner of a handheld rod, he kinda sweeps the face of the nailclipper blades with a scooping motion.

I don't think that sharpening all sorts of odd doemstic items is silly at all. "A sharp tool is safer than a dull one" and all that, but it also a great way to justify the SM to the Mrs. :)
