*Really really sarcastic voice* OOOOOOH NOOOOOO.

HA HA HA HA HA!!!

All of the "crazies" like myself, who stockpile food, ammo, water, demand a big 4 wheel drive truck, put together survival kits, buy a house with a fireplace, keep tons of extra batteries, own a generator, and can self sustain forever...

Are doing just fine. :D
The whole state has lost its mind, but the wife and I are nice and cozy. Later on, I think we're going to drive around and pull people out of ditches for fun.

To everyone else in the "fuzzy navel" state, stay safe and enjoy your day off!

Its good when a plan comes together. Sounds like you know how to live. But really, I think you need a backup generator or two if you are serious about this self-sufficiency thing. I own 3 of them.

You're right. I could use a couple more.

We got 2 inches of snow, funny how all the stores where packed with people buying food. I want to go 4 wheeling with my quad, my husky is in heaven.

Just an inch and a half in Virginia near the North Carolina border. Heck, my town shuts town when the weatherman start talking about the potential of snow! LOL

Here in TX, it's always the big 4x4 trucks that end up in ditches. Some people just don't get that, even with 4 wheel drive, it's probably a bad idea to haul @$$ and tailgate as much as possible after a snow storm.

A good secondary or tertiary generator is one of these small, portable Honda flavors. They only crank 2000 watts or so, but that's enough for a space heater, a home furnace (blower) or a fridge. And at 40 lbs, you just pick it up and take it with you. I have one, and it is so quite that I can almost not tell if it is running. But they aren't cheap, either.

Wow, that's just crazy how one inch can cause so many problems. Hell, we got four inches on Thanksgiving here, and it's still down there under all of the other ice and snow that has come since...

yeah but no one knows how to drive in snow down here and if you do the guy in front of you might not.

Ha Ha the news is still telling everyone to stay off the roads - Made it from Alpharetta to downtown and back today around 11am without a glitch - Have a feeling some people at GADOT and some school supers are going down after this snafu

Being from out west we measure snowfall in feet, an inch or two out here and it's the end of the world  , and people don't seem to understand why I would stockpile food and supplies and won't sell the tanks to go buy some mpg oriented econobox.

New to Blade Forums and am just reading this now. Sorry had to giggle a bit. This Friday we are expected to get a couple degrees above the freezing mark here in Northern Ontario for only the second time since October we have 4 feet of settled snow on the ground and was -30 the other day. I have to put on snowshoes to get to the woodshed but we haven't really kicked up the wood stove much the oil heater does a good job. Right after the holidays we got 3 feet in a day in town the schools closed for that day but opened up the next lol and I have never seen a storm cause people to stock up at the stores. No more than maybe getting their groceries a day early if it is supposed to be nasty.

Tonight alone it is -26 and we are getting Ice Quakes. Bonus points if any of you southerners know what they are. It is the frost in the ground expanding until it pops and it feels like the foundation of yet house was hit by a car, okay not a big car but gives you a good wake up some times.
