all of gods critters have knives

Every time I go out with my 3 dogs, I have 127 knives with me. One in my pocket and 42 in each of their mouths. Animals use teeth and claws as tools and defensive weapons. They come as standard equipment and are a necessary part of everyday life.

I believe that's what Sal meant.

Animals with knives are critters. Animals without knives are food.

It's a Spyderco advertising slogan that dates back to at least the early 1990's. Did make for a couple nifty t-shirts, a very attractive poster, and arguably the best looking cover art of any Spyderco catalog, but if you're searching for universal truths, advertising slogans are probably not the best place to look.

I still have the T-Shirt of the "All God's Critters Have Knives" on the one that Deacon is standing in front of and holding the 1997 Spyderco dealer catalog with that same murel/picture on the front. Personally I think the newest one that Deacon is standing in front of is truly a work of art.

I don't wear my Spyderco AGCHK T-Shirt very often and I wish I had an extra one. Some of the earlier stuff dating back to the early 90s and before are really getting very tough to find. I have one of Spyderco's official mouse pads from that era and they are virtually impossible to find anymore. I really love Spyderco's advertizing and marketing material>> they truly do a great job in that area.

Spyderco ought to do a reissue of that tee shirt. I would buy several. Maybe do a sprint run in cotton/silk blend. Full color would be best. How about it, Sal?

The Shirt Deacon is wearing is the very best one up till now IMO. I don't know exactly who did the artwork but it really sends a nice message. Because it really is the truth> GOD does equip his critters with knives of some sort>> not only for self defense but for survival purposes as well. That design of "All God's Critters Have Knives" is truly timeless.

I think if they ever do write a sequel of "The Spyderco Story" by Kenneth Delavigne then by all means the All God's Critters murel should be the cover design of that book if it ever comes to fruition. I truly think that picture conveys a lot of what Spyderco is truly all about. Just like GOD gave all of his critters the ways and means of providing for themselves and protecting themselves>> Spyderco provides us with such a wide array of great cutlery products to do just about any cutting chore you can imagine.

That ALL GOD'S CRITTERS HAVE KNIVES murel is truly timeless and would be a great piece of art to keep around for many purposes.
