So how many of you are out there?!

I've made a few impulse purchases for knives in the past, but since getting into more refined knives such as CRKs it is hard to justify impulse purchases.
I typically have a list of knives and will wait a good while until my mind is 100% sure and the funds are allotted. Well this logical approach has failed time to time.

I know there are many of you who have made impulse purchases with a tight budget. This thread will hopefully surface the Impulsive buyers and lighten our guilt. ;)

My most current off the wall, impulsive purchase was a CRK Mnandi.

What was your last impulsive purchase? What knife/knives?

don't know if this counts, but....

i decided at the last second when placing an order to get a 3G Fallkniven WM1 rather than a VG-10 one.....

i also tend to "impulsivly" add a Mora or two to every knife order i place.

lol you qualify!

I impulsively bought a Case Swayback Jack with the Bermuda green bone just the other day. I was all set on paying $30 for a Kershaw Chive and then as I'm walking by a display the Case caught my eye. So I bought it right then and there. I should stop going to places that sell knives because that's when all of my impulse buys occur.

I must admit that I used to be a bad impulse buyer. I knew what I wanted already but the problem was I wanted so many I couldn't keep track of them all. I'd be fine until I saw one on the exchange for a good price and I'd snatch it up before taking the time to really consider it. The good thing is I got a ton of knives for very good deals.

Since buying my first sebenza and getting into more high end knives I haven't made any impulse purchases... except for one... a couple weeks back.... I found a screamin deal on a almost minty Burke Production Rockstar and just had to get it. Fortunately I can say that I'm glad I got it, I've had it in my pocket almost exclusively since!

Just today I bought a kershaw ace, and a NIB ka-bar folding dozier, orange handle/black blade. 35 aud from aussie knife forum member so its a good deal. Just saw it for sale and thought I want it.

Went to a gun show last weekend and figured I would probably pick up a knife. Wasnt really planning on spending much money. Thought maybe I would pick up a Kershaw JYD because I sold mine and missed it. Well, I found a guy selling a CRK large sebenza (which I have never even seen in person before) and snatched it up!

nobody wants to admit making a mistake.
but everything that doesn't draw the slightest bit of interest or reaction from anyone else othen than the owner has got to be a lemon...
such an item can be automatically placed into the impulse buy category, that is until such time when folks suddenly can wait to buy it of your hands.

Oh yeah, I'm pretty bad when it comes to impulsive buying (not just knives, either...).:o Of course this was the case even before the interwebs but now it's even harder to resist the temptation at times when it's sooo easy to just hit "add to cart" or "buy now" 24/7.

My last impulsive purchase was an Victorinox alox Bantam. A Dutch webshop was selling Fenix flashlights for low prices and I wanted one of them. The same webshop also sells SAKs and since I saved money due to the price reduction....

Ya, but isn't that green absolutely gorgeous! So far I have been able to resist the John Deers, but being born in Saskatchewan, JD is part of my genetic code. :D

everything i buy is an impulse buy but then again, i can afford it. I have learned if you see something you like/want, get it cuz you might not be able to find it again.

Well I have a mental list of knives I am always looking for. So when I see something I know I already want for sale well..........AAHH who am I kidding....YES I AM A IMPULSIVE KNIFE BUYER!!:p

Haha I like the way thats justified

Most of my knives are impulse buys. The Manix 2 with CTS-XHP, Dozier D2, and Gayle Bradley M4 are all great buys. However my BM 943 SBK was considerably overpriced since I bought it directly from them, and my Cold Steel Talwar while pretty, could have been better spent on a sword from China for all the function it serves(wave fails to open knife, lock fails to engage 1 out of 2 times).

However, given the properties of CPM-M4, it's doubtful I'll buy another knife until somebody makes a stainless version of CPM-M4.

I mostly buy knives because of the steel, though now I'm tempted by a few swords.

I'm the worst impulse buyer I know. It really is terrible and it's come to a point where I try to go to the Exchange area only every other day. I'll do a bunch of impulse buys at once and then I'll lay low for about three or four weeks, then I'm back at it again. I'll try to sell some of the stuff I say I'll never carry or just can't bare to use, but that only makes it worse. When I sell something and the money is in my PayPal account I feel like it's not really tangible until I pull those funds out, so I end up doing some impulse buying. Knife addiction is a sickness... Knife addiction when you're an impulsive buyer is a disease.

I just impulsively bought this (3 minutes ago)

I only have 3 bought knives (including the one i just posted) and 2 of them were impulses. That one and the Fox Pro Hunter Folder.

That sounds better than me.

Hardly 2 weeks pass by before I find another knife in the mail, and unlike you, I don't sell my knives.

I'm pretty bad, every single knife I buy is an impulse buy - I just pickup whatever is a good deal on the forums :)
