I had a customer approach me looking for a camp knife... For his wife. Apparently this couple runs a survival school and they use knives all the time. They were great customers and I really enjoyed getting this knife together, but to make a long story short, she wanted a heavy duty camp knife that could be used for everything from batoning and chopping wood, to making dainty feather sticks. The only catch was she wanted it to fit smaller hands. So I went to work and had some fun :)

Specs-
OAL: 11 1/2"
Blade Length: 6 1/4"
Thickness: 3/16"
Handle: Green Linen Micarta w/ Carbon Fiber pins

I took it to the woods to do some testing... Anything under a 1.5" diameter cut in one stroke. The knife just didn't want to stop cutting... (or maybe that's just the 10 year old in me who just loves to make woodchips fly):o;)
After chopping with this I've decided I need to make a machete... So I guess that's my next project :)

Any questions/comments are welcome

that's a pretty neat design. It would benefit greatly with some additional finishing time, imo.

Thanks, it's 1095, bead blasted and etched.

I use a bead blasted/etched finish for most of my knives because it seems most durable and rust resistant... Is there a reason you prefer finer finishes?

I think I've found what I prefer, but I'm still trying to figure out what other people prefer so your opinion helps.
