After a years wait I finally got my Claiborne Press. It was due to come today but it got here a day early so its now up and running. I gave it a test drive this morning and its everything I thought it would be. Now I need to get some knife work done to pay for it but was money well spent and I'm sure it will pay for itself in no time. Thanks Ron! I'm glad I waited for my new toy.....

Cool, Ray! Enjoy squishing hot stuff! Make sure and do some soda/beer cans, too! That's always fun... :D

Empty has satisfied my needs to present but whatever will trip yer trigger, Ray! :D

I thought maybe euphamism= "can be" or some derivative thereof, Mike. Either that or maybe a gospel singer from the Barrier Islands. ;)

With Mark, though, we never know when Master Williams is at the throttle, so who knows? :D

Sorry,

The master can't spell for crapola.

I couldn't relate how jealous I was without cussing. I meant a euphemism :)

Greg, Its RED with gold pin strips. I told Ron color didn't matter. Just paint it with what he had on hand. At least for a few days I should be able to find it.

Bruce, Give me a few days on the pictures. For most the day I've been Rancher Ray working on the cow fence and I'm still not done. Something or somebody dropped about 300' of the bottom wire and it knocked out my whole hot wire system out. I'm lucky my mini herd didn't take off.

Mark, nana nana nana, he he he....... :D

man you thought he pounded out knives before .. look out
here he comes now...

watch the ele bill Ray :D don'tcha just love new toys :D

Dan, First new toy in a few years. Now I think I'm set. Dies, dies, and more dies. That will be next on the list once I figure out where I want to locate the press.

The fence is fixed for now and its hot! It must have been some kid with to much time on his hands. I'm sure glad I got well behavied cows. When you got two hot wires keeping them in and the bottom one is down and shorting the rest of the wire out and there still there thats something to be thankfull about.

Congratulations Ray! Havin' fun already I'll bet. What dies did you opt for? I'm expecting a press from Ron next month. I'm still trying to figure out what four sets of dies to select. Flat, drawing and two sizes of squaring dies I think. I may make dies with ball bearings welded in a pattern on each die, or a set with rods welded on each side. Mine will be Caterpillar yellow with red pinstriping. I have already started stacking 1084 and 15N20, tack welding and throwing them in a bucket of kerosene.
Have fun and looking forward to seeing some pix.....
Bill

Hey Ray! Congrats on the press! Now your gona have to change your handle on the fourms to "Ray the wild man" with all the fun your gona have!:D

Now you can enjoy those days when you get some wild idea for a new set of dies and you spend all day making them when you should be making knives....trust me, it's gona happen!

Ed, All I have been thinking about is different dies. Actually tried forging a few pieces tonight that I hope will become dies in a few days. Tomorrow I was planing on working on dies for most the day but I was asked if I would like to go salmon fishing. The dies can wait.......

Sounds like a nice color.....Ron paints them up like hotrods...

My next set of dies are gonna be some bevel forging dies.....

By the way....Ron, if you read this.....what diameter and kind of pipe should I use to make these dies? I already have the die plates cut and fitted to the press.

Congratulations Ray! That's got to be seriously cool, it's a wonder to me you can be a rancher on a day like that. :D You have far more discipline than I'll ever attain, you are again my hero.

Now quit the displacement behavior and get to work! :D
