All time WORST shipping..... New

Better to just let threads die, instead of closing them......but no hard feelings and I am happy we have so many great discussions on the Buck section of BF's. I am truly happy to be able to interact with so many Buck nuts like myself, and it has been a great couple of months here since the rifraf was booted!!

You.. You don't like me? If only they could ship an unbroken heart..

Haha, sorry some times I can't help myself! I read few the old thread a while ago and saw the package.. So what'd you end up doing with it? Returned I hope?

Seems we are still talking about bad shipping, I'll play along and post one more. This was my previous worst. Look closely at the picture.... that's right.... the seller stabbed the point of the knife into the side of the wooden display box and wedged it against the other. Funny thing, I also purchased an air impact wrench on ebay the same week, something nothing could hurt. It was double boxed, foam padded and shrink wrapped...... go figure.

I'll bet the warranty department at Buck has received some outstanding examples of bad shipping.

I purchased a 110 a couple years ago that came in a display box I specifically asked the seller to please don't send the knife in the display case in the opened position because the blade can
bounce around and damage the inside of the case during shipping. When I received the knife it was in the case in the opened position and the blade had cut through the cloth lining quite badly.
His listing clearly showed the lining in perfect condition when I purchased it. When I sent him a message notifying him of the problem and also mentioned that I was still going to leave him
positive feedback anyway he went off on my as if I had done something wrong myself. Go figure.

Understand Desoto's reason for closing down, us all agreeing with him on the seller, but Steelhead's thread is OK as it lets us compare stories (vent) and maybe someone will gain some pointers. I was doing heavy Ebay in late 90's and early 2000's. Buying 300s (some with hidden bad blades) and as you can imagine I received every kind of package you could jam a 300 in. Wish I would have taken a photo of each one and that would have made a great article for BCCI and here. Got lots of the bright yellow boxes folded flat, usually a old style box would be shipped in padded envelope or box. Several were just wrapped in paper and addressed. Usually written on the package or once in a while on a label. I actually received some with notes thanking me for my purchase and a nice invoice. One even tied up with string. One of my horror stories was a clam pack that had been in a store fire. It was still intact but smoky and no heat damage to the knife was apparent. But, when I received it the clam pack was brittle and had broken apart during shipping. Cardboard liner was fine so no big deal. Knife seemed perfect. It was one of the plastic pruning knife versions and only a collectors piece. Someone on the forum collects those models. That was my " every folder made by Buck" phase. I got over that about the same time I realized I was never going hunting in Africa.......300Bucks

The worse I have experienced was a David Yellowhorse letter opener that was shipped in an unpadded manila envelop. Needless to say, the blade poked through the envelop and I received an empty envelop with a slit cut through the bottom. The ebay seller refused to acknowledge any responsibility; however, he had a poor feedback rating in regards to shipping so ebay did refund my payment. It is called a letter opener for a reason!! :)

During my over 3.5 decades of being a mailman I witnessed some unbelievable bad shipping like screaming sharp fixed blades sticking out of an envelope etc. My personal favorite was one day taking hold mail to a customer at the counter and woman comes in trying to mail a plate of hot food covered with nothing but tin foil to her Son, wanting a guarantee it would be hot on delivery. In the early 70's there was big ceramic Elephants coming from Thailand every week until one arrived broken with heroine spilling out , on my boots . I should maybe write a book one day ? :)

Now days that would have closed down the post office as a toxic waste spill site till it could have been investigated and then cleaned up. You would have to go to the hospital for tests and observation and your clothes confiscated for evidence. Your name would be added to the suspious list and drones would be hovering over your house. 300
