Hi, guys!

Just wanted to check - are all of the Wakis differentially treated? I remember reading that they definitely started out that way; but I also seem to recall someone saying that later ones were not (although I can't find where I saw it). I was looking at a satin Waki from a few Ganzas ago and could not see one of those hamon lines; so I wondered if it was true. Is the hamon always visible in a differentially treated blade, or do you have to do anything to it to get it to show? Is there a point where the Waki heat-treat changed? If so, does anyone know when that was?

Thanks!

I have one of the satin wakis from the Ganza, and it was NOT differentially HTed. A little disappointing, I will admit.

I ordered Wakis as soon as they were offered and when i stripped mine there was no Hamon. This doesnt necisarily mean that it wasn't DHT, it may just mean that the DHT wasnt enough to produce a hamon. Hopefully from the shop drops by and can explain this.
