This weird picture is apparently a
field ion microscope (FIM) image of a very sharp tungsten needle. The small round features are individual atoms. The lighter colored elongated features are traces captured as atoms moved during the imaging process (approximately 1 second).
I dunno, but it seems to me that parts of the edge seem a bit "toothy," and maybe still has some zombie bits on it. I think they should give that tungsten needle to Dan, to freshen it up a little...:D

That looks like a blister I have on my........

nevermind.

I thought it was zombie crud, but what do I know?

From an online physics journal, so I think this is legit.

I've never used a..."field" ion microscope was it? Must not be on the cutting edge anymore.

But in any case, maybe that's what the electron cloud sharing associated with metals looks like...metallic bonding....

In any case, it sure is pretty.

I think they may just need to test some of Steves knives. They are the sharpest things I've ever experienced. LOL.

Sarge, I hear they got a powder for that stuff.

Use some of this and one of those doughnut pillows. You'll be fine.
