So, will flawless Blade blades start appreciating in value now that he seems to have disappeared?

Just wondering what you all think.

Jim,

I may have missed it, but would you give us some background on Allen's disappearance? I own one of his blades.

...and I have one on order with him. I would have it now if "I" hadn't disappeared (changed jobs and therefore, the ISP that supported my e-mail).

Had an e-mail conversation with his wife a couple of weeks ago.

If they appreciate it will only be for about 12-18 months. Allen Blade lives on the same cyle that new processors are put out by Intel and AMD :D

He goes through these things all the time. Kinda like me!

Look for my handmade knives soon ;)

Well, I guess I just thought he disappeared after he pulled out of the online forum he was running.

I ordered a MEUK in D-2 in May — I forget what year, whether it was 2001 or 2000, to tell the truth. I recall at the time he said he would have it done in about six weeks.

I own a small Combat Patrol Bowie and it is a thing of flawless beauty. I wanted the MEUK as a carry blade and still do. If someone has his current address, phone number or e-mail address, please share (feel free to send it by e-mail if you don't want to post it online.)

My two Blade knives - wish I had more. Top one is 8" bottom one is 6", both are 3/16" thick and flat ground.

I know I appreciate my Blade Talonite Chipmunk more every day, just got done posting a thread in the Gallery about it (and a couple of others).

I'm in the process of tracking down his larger brother which was sold to the original owner as a set, a Talonite Tadpole.

I've also got one of his early neck knives in 1095, also a great piece of work!

Personally, I will/would never order form Allen direct because of his history, hopefully I will be able to find future pieces in the secondary market.

I really don't think the value will go up a lot though, his bad rep has soured a lot of people and I think that will filter down to his knives. That's unfortunate because from what I've seen he does great work.

1095 Blade neck knife.

It's also seen some use ;)

I think you have to be crazy to get a knife from this guy. Yes I had one and another on order. The one on order never came, even though both Ab and his new wife e-mailed me more than 3 times each that it was on the way. I for one would never be comfortable trying to get a knife of theirs serviced and there for sold the one I had.
