Guess the title says it all, if any of you out there are using one of his blades I would like any comments on it. I'm looking at a field knife/fighter/bowie with about 10 inch blade.
How does he sheath his knives? Kydex or leather? Thanks for any information.

Allen Blade makes a very good knife at a great price. Why buy Cold Steel when you can get one from him at about the same pricepoint?

He uses Kydex for the sheaths and, the ones I got were perfect fit and finish.

I would suggest checking out the reviews section with a search to dig up a couple of reviews from the past.

Stay Sharp,
Sid

p.s. I should note that he is significantly back logged due to some personal business and a move to the east coast.

I have a knife on order, but I don't have it yet so I can't tell you anything about them from personal experience.

I did get him to make a sheath for a knife I made (the sheath was made out of kydex) and it is AMAZING! Awesome sheath work. The knife hugs the body. I thought it would stick way out on my hip because of the "klunky sheath" but the sheath isn't klunky at all! He also assembles them using a screw assembly. When your sheath gets full of gunk from your swamp adventures (hey, you never know!) you can unscrew the screws and clean the sheath real easily.

I asked Allen about his bowie handle the other day over e-mail. It Looks from the pictures that the handle is kinda like a rectangular block and I thought that if you got to swinging it the knife would want to fly out of your hand. He said that the handles are contoured and flare at the back or something liek that to keep your hand secured to the handle. If you have questions liek that about his knives, I'd suggest a search and also asking him through e-mail.

Fhen I get my MEUK I plan on doing a review of it, so stay tuned!

I'm having Allen Blade make me one of his chipmunks in d2. It's a fb with a 2 inch blade and about 5 in OAL. Having him put a nice two tone finish on it for me. I've heard very good things about his kydex sheaths; i can't wait to get my knife. Very affordable prices too, about what i would expect to pay for factory. His website needs updating, but his new email address is:
AllendotC0M@aol.com (it's a zero in com). I have his phone number and address kicking around here someplace, if you need them let me know. Anyways, i'll be posting some first impressions when i get my chipmunk in a couple weeks, keep an eye out for it. Hope i could be of help,
Pete

You will not go wrong with one of Allen's pieces. Great stuff. His Kydex work is top drawer as well. "You get what you pay for" stops at Allen's door. You definitely get more than your money's worth from him, IMHO.

His delivery on this last piece I ordered is somewhat past the target date, but I suspect it's probably on the way. You might want to e-mail him and see how he's doing.

Allen Blade is a "Best Buy" maker. Soon he will be "discovered" and his prices will match his quality. I have two on order, a 5" Talonite Tactical Kitchen Knife (TTKK)and a talonite Japanese Utility Knife (TJUK?) owning several of his knives, I think he is hard to beat for quality, both in grinding and kydex forming.
