I got the chance to hang out with Allen some over the last couple of days. His one little pic of his project knife does not do the knife justice at all. The man is definitely stepping up his game. Gives me hope that some day soon I may actually see the bolstered bushcraft knife I have wanted for the last several years :)

Here are a few more pics of the knife. It is beautiful!

It is pretty amazing seeing him improve so quickly both with design amd craftsmanship. Very excited to continue watching!

Allen talked about crafting this knife when I visited the Forge earlier this summer. Seeing these photo's kinda takes my breath away......imagine what he'll be doing in another couple of years.

My thoughts exactly as I turned it round and round in my hand. The man has talent for sure.

What sucks is that in the excitement of the day, I forgot to ask the steel used....

I never understood what's up with those tiny pics @ the Forge to be honest, made me a bit reluctant to buy a knife just from such a tiny pic at first even.

I personally think that 800 pixels wide should be the minimum nowadays, with the much faster internet and larger screens all around.

But that's a gorgeous knife I see now, well done Allen (& Mist)

I don't know about that man. One of the reasons I no longer post on some of the forums I once did is because of being fussed at for using too many and too large a photo. But I agree. As I told the site admin on one, the photos are not hosted on your site, so they do not use your bandwidth, and if all you want me to post is two small pics of a knife with with a lot of impressive details, then I see no point in posting at all. I'll gain just as much nothing from doing the posts as I will gain from other's posts done likewise. And I haven't posted there since. personally, looking back on it, those posting pics of local knife makers there aren't so limited in their posting, I guess they didn't like being showed up and complained. So I am working n a series of photos of one of the Forge knives that will be one of the whole knife and 5 or 6 macro shots that show all the awesome details, lines, and curves up close in detail in the small pics. Maybe I can really piss them off :)

Really? That's pretty extreme and not really cof this time anymore imo.

But you're right that the bandwidth hogging isn't an issue any longer with most sites not hosting their own images any more. Plus with todays image resizing software you can reduce the size of photo's significantly even if you remain the original resolution (I use a free programme called "Mihov Image resizer" & highly recommend it).

Just keep those gorgeous pics coming please
