Hello!

I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself to the KA-BAR community.

My name is Jesse Jarosz, and I am one of the new designers for KA-BAR.

Prior to KA-BAR, I was and still am a custom knifemaker. I have always been a 'knife guy', I love knives! (as I'm sure we all do) A lot of the influence for my designs comes from military, outdoor, and hard use applications. My theory on design is to keep things simple and functional. I try to avoid unnecessary features that don't provide much benefit to cutting performance or ergonomics, because when it comes down to it, all we need from a knife is for it to cut and that we maintain positive control whilst cutting.

I'd love to get to know you all, and I hope you feel the same! Feel free to ask any questions about myself, my knives, my dog, or anything else you might like to know! I'd be happy to answer. I only ask you be patient with me as we are pretty busy at SHOT Show. If you happen to be around for the show, feel free to swing by this week! I'd love to hang out and talk with you.

I hope you enjoy the Globetrotter and any designs we may release in the future. I have included with this post a few quick cell phone pictures ;) I will post much better ones from the woods when I get home and get out!

Happy and honored to be part of the team and community! Talk with you soon!

Awesome and welcome to KA-BAR and Bladeforums and especially the KA-BAR subforum! The Globetrotter is very good looking. What are the scales made out of?

And what kind of dog do you have?

Hello Jesse. Welcome.

Congratulations, designing for KaBar is quite an achievement.

That is indeed a great looking knife. I look forward to trying one out.

Thank you for the warm welcome and compliment!

The scales are ultramid, which is a glass impregnated nylon. Same stuff used on the Becker line as well as EK, and features a nice, grippy texture very similar to the EK line.

My dog is a Female German Shepherd named Roxy. Here's a picture of her from the fall when we were out doing some scouting for deer hunting.

Quality already showing. You've got a pic of your dog even when are away from home.

You are more than welcome to shoot me a message if you're in the area. Always happy to meet up with knife folks!

The KA-BARs will be in 1095cv, same as the USMC and Becker knives. It's a good, proven steel so I saw it only fitting to keep using it on this. We may offer some other steels with future designs, however. Only time will tell!

Welcome! I have been eyeballing the Globetrotter all morning. Looks to be a nice edc size as well as enough belly for skinning if need be. I look forward to handling one of these in the not too distant future. Congrats on working with KaBar, an excellent accomplishment. Good luck & I look forward to your future endeavors

Welcome!

The first blade looks nice, and fills a niche for Kabar and friends (smallish blade with what looks to be a more or less full size handle). I'm interested to see what else you bring to the table :).

Oh, and what kind of car do you drive, and what type of camping do you prefer when you're out in the woods (hammock, tent, delux camper, bury yourself in the leaves, etc)?

congrats on the collaboration with Kabar - they are good folks.
Roxy is a gorgeous pup, and the globetrotter is pretty nice looking, too.
looking forward to the chance to handle one in the upcoming year.
will you be at Blade in June?

Glad to see you here Jesse,
We have somethings in common.
thought on knife design.
From Nebraska.
Like German Sheppard's.
I am sure that not all.
best of luck with KaBar.

Thank you for the comment! I have built quite a lot of handmade Globetrotters and a number of my customers have used them for processing game, and I definitely recommend for EDC! See you around the forums, and thanks again!

Welcome aboard bud! Looking forward to learn more about your knives

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Thank you! I hope the Globetrotter is well received, it's one of my personal favorites of my designs.

I drive a Silverado 1500, and I am into camping with minimal equipment. Usually pitch a tarp or construct a shelter and carry a pack with various tools and light equipment. I'm not necessarily a primitive bushcrafter, as I enjoy using modern tools, but building additional equipment from what is available in nature is definitely enjoyable to me! I usually sleep on the ground or make some sort of padding with grass and cedar limbs, but I am considering getting into using a hammock. I have back problems from knife making and the dirt doesn't necessarily help that. Lol. Also would really like to get into canoeing this year.

Thanks for the great comment!
