Just curious, I saw a picture of the the almite navigator.

The Slotted handle would look awesome on the native.

Hi Clay. We're working up a CF proto on the Nativ e at this time. If there were an Almite Native (with slots). What color(s) would interest you?

Thanks for the reply Sal. I used to be an EMT so I'm kind of partial to blue. However, I like the grey color of the navigator. Red might also please the firefighters.

Personally, I would like to see grey or blue.

p.s. I wish I had my Native when I worked out in the field. It is an awesome product.

Zytel and s/s regular models. BF G10 limited edition. G10 Shell inlay limited editions x 2. And now a CF version!?

How about an almite Military instead? Drilled on both ends for a reversible clip of course.

BTW Sal, have you ever considered making a functionally finished CF knife (beadblasted for texture) rather than polished?
 
When I got my Toad, I noticed that some of the literature that came with it said the scales were "Almite coated". What is Almite and what is it for?

Hi Carlos. Actually, a bead blasted formed CF was the original plan for the Temperance. We'll be using G10 for a while to refine the model. Then we'll see where it goes.

Will. Almite is a type of anodizing process for aluminum that has proved to be quite tough.

Anyway blue, green, yellow and burgundy would go well.

Hey Sal the Native would look great in blue gray almite like the experimental walker had on it. Just my 2 cents worth.

Please, any color but red! In law enforcement training, red guns are safe ( cannot fire and usually made of solid plastic). The same should go for other dangerous items. I note that the Gunting trainer is red. I think that is great! It would be good if this was a standard trainer color.
 
cf native....

drool. i have three versions of the native (blue BF, pearl shell, FRN), and now you are going to make a piece for my cf case to go with my bugs and (soon?) civie?? nice!

I think Burgandy would be a great change of pace color for the Almite Native! It should be special & different than the colors already used on other Spydies. Are you planning on making a sprint run of Carbon Fiber Natives or just a proto? Thanks, Ron.....

Hey Laredo. that's the way I feel. our trainers are red. only red knife that won't be a trainer is the Ladybug.

Hi Ron. right now, it's just a "Concept Model" to check reaction and price.

Sing. thanx for the kind words on the Nav. But...that's a cop out on the Almite Native. I need a color preference for direction.

I, like TheBeak, have a BF Native, a plain shell inlay Native, and a FRN Native. In fact, I have 2 of the BF and the shell inlay models! I must still get the steel version, but it certainly isn't my favorite handle material.

It IS my favorite Spyderco knife BY FAR (with a Starmate and Dragonfly being a not sO distant second). I figured I collected them all, and now Sal conspires against me and my pocket yet again by designing the CF Native!

I will, OF COURSE, get it if it comes out, and also the Almite Native, and whatever Native comes out. What color, you ask? Let's see, I have a blue shell inlay, a blue BF, hmmm...MAKE IT BLUE! Hey, it's my favorite color, and I just can't get enough of it!

A nice gunmetal blue, like the Almite Navigator, would look awesome. Hey Sal, why not make a FRN Blue Native, just for kicks? I figure I'll be completely bankrupt by then, but I can always give up some blood for cash and then purchase it :P

Seriously Sal, thanks for considering this knife for alternate materials and colors. I love collecting it! (although my pocket certainly doesn't)

It looks like I've created a monster with this post.

Sal, I just received my almite navigator yesterday. This would be an awesome handle on a native. With the blue almite or I also like the idea of a burgundy handle that someone else suggested.
