Went down to the mailing sevice to do shipping and found two parcels waiting for me. I saw Raggy's return address on one and figured it was the deer jerky he'd told me he would be sending. Beautifully done and excellently packed. Pala, who lost his load of Nepali wild pig jerky to US customs, was delighted and said to be sure to inform Raggy this was the best job of packing he'd seen in his 75 years.

Then to the second box. Not heavy enough for a six pack of Heinken but about the right size. Opened it up and couldn't believe my eyes -- a new Kokak 4900 DC!!!! Didn't really believe it until I got it out of the box.

Pen had alerted me that I had three parcels coming this week but I had no idea.

There are times when even a guy with almost 30,000 posts who comments on everything doesn't know what to say and this is one of them. Thanks, gratitude, appreciation, just doesn't get it. Boys, you've gone way above and beyond the call........

Now all I've got to do is figure out how to use it and find a place with some decent lighting. Stay tuned. REAL pix will soon be forthcoming.

Uncle Bill,
You deserve all the good things that can come your way!:D You have, after all given us a second home to come visit whenever we want, and treated us all as part of your family. Family and friends. That is what makes the HI forum so special.:)

Whenever you suspect Dan is up to something, you can be sure it's something good. Congrats Uncle, can't wait to see the next batch of specials photographed with the new camera. Hey, how about getting some of them sporty cocktail waitresses out there in Reno to hold the khuks for the pics. MMmmmmm, me likey them specials.

Bill, you built this place and bring these wonderful pieces of art into our lives. You help Pala take care of the Kamis, making their lives, and the lives of their families better. You're an honest man in an age of thieves, tricksters and charlatans.

You are appreciated.

Steve

I don't know how to use it yet but for Aard here is exactly what you asked for. With practice (and after I read the manual!!! -- I just went far enough to learn how to turn it on and shoot) I think I can get some very decent pix. I guess we should all offer thanks after trying to figure out what was in the pix I was posting.

Thanks, Uncle Bill.

I've always felt that the use of machines should be intuitive without reading any stinking manuals, like computers and jump-jets. If not, it's the fault of the designer.

I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the camera is obviously defective: both of the pictures look like you.

Enjoy. You deserve it.

Joe

Now all it needs is a cho, magic stone mirror finish, and usual good work from the village sarki. :D

Thanks Bill!!!!
Thanks Dan!

Is that a little tornado in the first pic?

Or do the dust-bunnies get wound up like that cartoon Tasmanian devil?

Now the specials will be even harder to resist.

Now... how about taking some more photos of everyone there at Himalayan Imports-Nevada? :)

cool idea. Perhaps Beo could add a page called "HI's Stateside Team" on the website, use the pix and Uncle's descriptions, kinda like is done with the Kamis.

Good pix and thanks.

That's what I was thinking :)

(I have a bit on Uncle & Yangdu here already)

though I was also thinking if we got some other shots of Yangdu with a khukuri I could re-update the cover image.

I sure did enjoy this special project. You have given so much of yourself to the folks on this forum, you deserve the best that the forum can do for you. :) :D
