a new knife is trading knives
Last night my 11 yr old was bugging my wife to spend some of his money on a new knife from SMKW, well he's got a helluva little collection already (SAKS, Rough Riders, a Buck, etc) doesnt really need anymore rightnow, both wife and i agree. So i got to thinking hey i got my little stash of knives alot of which dont see as much pocket time as they should... Voila a trade opportunity! I traded the kid my '81 4 blade aluminum handle camillus for a Single Blade Vic Gardener:thumbup: excellent knife, sharp, light, slim profile.
...Cause the deal went so well i kicked in my old Camillus 2 bladed Barlow, just cause i kinda like the kid Happy-Kid-Happy Dad-Happy Mom!
Alleviated alot of the urge to buy for both of us!:thumbup:

Sounds like a great kid. I like that y'all didn't just give in to his impulse to spend away his money on something just, well, because he wanted it. It's a good lesson. Sometimes it's best to just tell ourselves no. Other times, it's best to find a more prudent way to acquire the things we need or want.
