The Assisted living Facility I live at finally gave me permission to make their kitchen knives un-dull.
I have my work cut out for me. Most are almost as "sharp" as a butter knife.
(the butter knife being "sharper".)
I'm going to use my files to get them close to un-dull, then finish with my diamond stones and strop.
I believe if I just used the stones, they would finish wearing out before I got the first one or two sharp.
Wish I had one of those (complete & operational) venerable vintage antique farmer's/blacksmith's treadle powered waterstone grinding wheels... I might get finished in only just a day, if I had one of those.
Tis almost tempting to break out the draw through "sharpener".
I don't have the equipment for serrations, so I touched up the back side and gave them back.
They're un-duller than they were, but still not "sharp" .... Then again, I've never seen a truly sharp serrated edge ...
