Here's a new batch of Valkyres that I've been working on. They all have stabilized giraffe bone overlays.

The blades are Damasteel. I just do a quick etch in ferric chloride to bring up the pattern and to make sure I got all the scratches out before heat treating. ;)

The flip side.....

After heat treat, I'll buff the blades to a mirror finish and etch them in Muriatic acid.

(I know "Why's he posting unfinished knives inThe Gallery?!" :grumpy: )

Anyways, I hope you like them! :)

Awesome knives Tom. I don't know how you turn out so many beautiful pieces of work.

Their Great!!!

Beautiful knives. I gotta get me one of those !!

BTW, how do you stabilize a bone/wood anyway ?

Thanks, everyone! :)

I get my giraffe bone from Nico Bernard. I think it's dyed and stabilized with some type of acrylic resin. (It doesn't even smell too bad when grinding. ;) )

Fantastic!!!

This is a piece of art that due to the material used and the shape, we can call KNIFE.
Wonderful!

Bouissou.

Tom, I got to handle this Valkyrie last week while I made the pocket sheath for it. It is just amazing!!!

Tom those are beautiful knives. I especially like the pattern in the steel. Thank you for sharing your work.

Thanks, folks! :)

The blades for these are going out for heat treat in a few days.

I'll post more pics of the finished knives when they're ready! ;)

Those are some very handsome folders, Tom. That giraffe bone makes for a classy looking handle material too.

Thanks! :)

Here's another shot of the knife Dave posted.......

This is what the Damasteel looks like when it's finished.

Right now, I'm working on some with S30V blades and giraffe bone.

Everytime I see one of those on here it makes me want one.. :p .., really gorgeous work!
