Almost had my first spydie today....

I was at work today and when i went on a scrap run to take copper to the dumpster i was clearly not paying attention well enough. As i was getting back in the truck the other guy i work with asked me if i dropped my knife. Sure enough i checked my pocket and nope, my Kershaw was still there. I asked why and he picked a knife up off the ground and tossed it to me. As soon as i saw it i realized it was a Caly 3 carbon fibre with the ZDP lam blade. He kept it to open boxes and stuff but i sure wish i found it first. The strange thing is that nobody other than the three of us at work has access to the area and its not one of ours. Seems like a pretty nice knife for a guy out climbing fences to steal copper. I guess i need to look atthe ground more when i walk

That's one hell of a find. Today I found a valve stem cap on the ground, so your coworker's got me beat.

I told my wife your story and said that I would not want to be in your coworker's situation - stood to benefit from another knife lover's loss. She said "So if you see money on the ground, you are not going to pick it up?" My wife told me exactly what I needed to hear, nothing more.

^^^ That was my thought also. If we worked in an area where more than a few of us had access then we are both the type that would have asked around or tried to find out who it belonged to. Being that there are only three of us with access to this fenced and locked area, we basically felt that whoever lost it was clearly a shady individual. I am currently doing a refurb project on a set of ancient german kitchen knives for him, maybe i will have to try to work out a trade haha.
