Almost pulled the trigger on a large Sebenza lefty yesterday. Should I get it?

I was at the Pasadena knife show yesterday and saw a standard large Sebenza in a lefty. It was really nice and I almost got it, but didn't for some reason. Now I'm kinda regretting it. What would a good price be on one?

Also, it's the first time that I've seen one. It opened nice, but was a bit stiff. Does it have bearings? I figured it just needed to be used a bit. This would be one of my EDCs along with my Ray Laconico's.

if you have the extra change to spare and find a used 1 for a decent price then yes definitely pick 1 up. If your a knife enthusiast and want to try out 1 of the best if not the bes production knife in the world then you want a sebenza. try to find a used but in good condition 1 for around $340-$385

If you are trying to compare the smoothness of the sebenza to your Laconico don't. Ray's knives are some of the smoothest out there, and I haven't had a sebenza ever get as smooth as my Laconico. The sebenza will get smoother over time on the other hand. Sebenzas have phosphor bronze washers and a pivot bearing.

That being said I would still tell you get the sebenza.

Do it now!!! I love my large 21 and do not regret getting it. If you don't like it you can always sell it and not lose that much if anything. Now I also have a 25 and those are soooo smooth!

As a fellow lefty, I just want to say that they are kind of hard to find. If you have the cash in hand saved up, then I think that it might be a mistake not to--who knows when you will next get a chance to pick one up.

I would have to say..... Oh heck yeah go and buy one! I bought a small plain 21 and have enjoyed it so much! I have had it now for a month. It is one beautifully, well constructed knife that is so concisely put together. A real joy to EDC and play with randomly

I'm a lefty who just bought a left handed small Sebenza and while I was on the fence for a long time, I'm glad I finally bought one. The knife is really an excellent product and I love the looks and feel of it.

A cool bonus is I showed it to my right handed buddy this weekend and he was like "how do I open the damn thing?" He was totally confused when he tried to open it right handed. I said "dude, now you know how I feel!"

Anyway, if you have the cash, it is certainly worth picking up.

They are always worth it, and fairly easy to find if you know where to look (can't link due to forum rules.)

I've had four or five small leftys of various flavors and three larges. always regret selling them off, so I decided to keep at least one of each of them... Another large is soon to be added to this current quiver:

My Sebenza was my first lefty knife and I can never go back. I was definitely drinking with a few friends the other day and did the same thing only to hear, "What the $#@^ is wrong with your knife?!" I just laughed knowing not only was the knife perfect, but it was a wonderfully proven point.

Feel free to email me if you want to let go of one, or know of a good place to find one.

I've been waaaaaaiiiiiitiiiing to find a large lefty sebenza up here in Canada. The dealer has had them on order for some time but a run of lefties has not been made for a while. I'm also watching the exchange.

My lefty Mnandi is about four months out. They aren't exactly easy to find.
I can't tell you how many various lefties Mark and I have sent back and forth between ATX and NOLA... Seems we swap knives all the time. That one, however, is staying around.

Sean/skav, you have mail.
