Saw dogrunner's post about the restock of SJ's at about 3:30.

Mulled the idea around for a good two-and-a-half-hours. Pulled up old threads and looked for pics & information on the SJ. Weighed the Black/Black and the Olive Drab/Black countless times. Even went so far as clipping pics of the OD blade & Black Canvas TAC handle from the Busse Combat main site and then Photoshopping them together so I could see what the combo would look like. (I'm not gay enough to be so good with colors.)

Then, I saw a picture of a FSH in OD/Black in the Gallery and really liked it. So, I struck up the courage to order. I added a large green/black lanyard to my cart. Easy enough at $3.95... a good deal and should match the knife pretty well. Then, I added the OD/Black SJ to my cart, and...

WHAT?!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!!

The OD/Black SJs disappeared from the Product List! Man, you've never seen anybody finish a checkout so fast in your life.

After I completed the order and read a confirmation email and calmed my pulse and wiped the sweat from my brow, I checked the "Order Here" page. Sure enough, the OD/Black SJs were gone. Jerry and the gang may put up some more, but who knows? I couldn't have cut it any closer on this one. Man, I would have been really ticked at myself if I'd spent all that time deciding and then missed my chance.

Well, my first Busse should be on its way! As long as the software had the count right (knock wood).

Otherwise, I'll just be sad (but $265 richer, I guess).

Congratulations. The SJ TAC is a great knife.

Quick decision making, followed by effective action, is critical at the trough.

Congrats on a great blade! :D

The OD/Black combo works well - you'll be glad you got it.

Good pic. Nice knife. Thanks.

Yep, looks like I imagined it (or Photoshopped it).

Just curious... Are not all Busses stamped as such with the logo/name?

nope, not all.
Thanks Hank. Not that it matters. I'd just never seen a medium or large coated blade without the stamp.

The stamp is there but for some reason they seem harder to see on the SJ Tacs. I have a Black coated one and it is barely visible.

You're right! It is there, but tough to see. In the pic, I see the hogtags hanging down better than anything.

Maybe they didnt charge up the laser engraver to full power that day. :p
I seem to remember Jerry posting that they blew up the laser last year: Busse coatings and INFI must be nasty stuff to work on.

But I thought Jerry snorted granulated INFI for a quick pick me up. :D

Jerry may well be made of INFI, but that doesn't mean the laser is tough enough.

There is no time for decision making ansd mulling at the trough, You must react with lightening reflexes. The Hog response to new INFI my be made second nature or the Uber hogs will annihilate the hopeful piglets. If you don't believe me, ask the guys at Blade 05 how many of them got to see the Argonne Assault variant before it disappeared into my bag. Reflexes my friends, are all important. :D

I must be doing something right.

I’ve got all the pieces of INFI I’ve wanted so far from the other side of the planet with a slow dial up connection.

It’s probably a good thing that not all of us want to be HOGs.

He who hesitates will not wade!
Don't wait for those prices to drop, or you'll usually be SOL!
I had a couple really good snags this year. I don't know how long it's going to take me to get to Blade, but at the rate I'm going, I'll never be able to save up for plane tickets.

you still have, what, six months and change? make it down, my friend, i am intending for blade06 to be my first, and i can't wait!
