Hello and happy holidays.
I have a question and was wondering which will be a better material when working in a ice field. Would it be a better choice to carry a knife that is made of carbon steel or stainless steel?

Thanks for your time and info.

Carbon knives & tools have been used in the Arctic Zone for 1000+ years by the Finns, Swedes, Russians, Lapps... so I don't think you can dismiss carbon steel outright. Stainless tools certainly have benefits if you are using them in corrosive or extreme elements.

Are you needing a knife for use with ice, or just in extreme cold?
