(Alone in the wild)2.5 hour documentary film.

It comes up here every 6 months or so, but I never get tired of watching it.
Ed W. sure proves that living in the wild isn't as easy as it looks on TV.

I did watch this about a month ago. I was intrigued as I always am by survival documentaries, but I didn't like the guy. I didn't like his reasons for doing it, I didn't like his apparent narcissism, and I hated his crying and giving up all the time. It was obvious from the beginning of the movie that he wasn't going to make it for very long. He basically "survived" on his huge bag of rice, carried a pack that probably weighed more than him, and didn't seem to be able to do basic things like cook game properly (every time I saw him cook a fish in his pot, I wanted to barf it looked so disgusting).

I found it too long & boring.
He was there to make TV time, not to actually live in the environment.
Why didn't he harvest a moose? If he didn't have permission, he was set up for failure.

Narcism seems to be the modern way of doco's. Way too many minutes (hours) of this guys face while he "hears" a bear, or pines for his girl, or whatever.

I had to flip through, it was so dull, & don't know what became of his canoe.
