there was alot of blood coming from my brothers finger. I sharpened his knife hedecided to see if it's as good as when my dad does it and woweee.
I think I'm finally getting the hang of sharpening.

Never sharpen someone's knife without telling them (not directed at you embeth, just an fyi for everyone) - the chance of an accident is high, because it will cut and perform differently than they expect. So let them know, and warn them that they will have to use it with caution until they understand they way it performs.

I sharpened up the Mundial cooks knife we use as a throwabout knife in the kitchen a couple weeks back. A week later my fiancee used it to cut up some potatoes. She removed a 2mm thick slice of left index fingertip, and now has to have it bandaged for the next month. At least it was a clean cut ;-p
I'll quickly point out that she knew it had been sharpened, it was just a stuff-up on her part, not what Sircantaloupe had referenced.

Make them sign a release before you sharpen. :D

HaHA my experience was worse 7 stitches and two weeks of pain. Machetes are hard to sharpen with a hand sharpener. Blood was squirting all over the place and I could touch the bone.
