Alox Farmer or Fireman?

Ok, I'm torn between buying an Alox Farmer or a Fireman.

Just for background, I own about thirty SAKs, so this is hardly a "need," just a "want." I only have four Alox models (cadet, electrician, pruner and bantam) and am a little alarmed they appear to be closing out the entire alox line. OTOH, I don't own a 111mm model at all, and have always had an attraction to the Fireman.

Which model would you recommend? Both is not really feasible, due to finances.

I am very found of both the 111mm line and the Fireman. My current EDC is a Hunter. All that being said, I would vote for the Farmer. It is such an iconic model, every collection should have one. I wish mine did.

I went ahead and ordered the Farmer due to my (possibly hysterical) fear of the alox line being shut down.

I did have a Harvester on my radar screen for several months and recently tried to order one. Due to being discontinued, the pricing has jumped by about $10-15. So I'm getting a Farmer.

Still like the Fireman, but will wait for another day.

About 6 years ago i got both a Farmer and a non one hand Fireman for Christmas from my wife. I say that there is room for both:) i carry the farmer as a lightweight daily pocket knife. The fireman is a great outdoor/work knife.

Go with the fireman, the farmer is similar to the pruner you already have but the fireman is a whole new type of SAK for your collection.

I own an alox electrician and also a fireman, just as Steely_Gunz said each one has its own field of action.

Jaime Orozco.

Alox Farmer is just awesome looking.

And comfy.

Glad you went with the farmer. I have a slight liking for it myself.

Top 7 are farmers. The farthest right is a farmer with added scissors layer.
