I havent had much urge to start collecting knives again but lately I started noticing intereting alox at the market. Here are a few that I have since picked up and haven't gifted.

2 Cadets with ribbed scales. One needs to be restored as the springs are bent. The other cadet is in excellent condition. The soldier is minty and I often carry it in my bag.

There are many pre 1980's Alox in the market here priced $2-20. I really dont know if i should just buy them all up. I know they are extremely collectable and some are nearly impossible to find in excellent condition.

One of my issues Im having is that the knives Im finding have very little information on them online. Usually I just see pictures and brief descriptions of age. I believe many are older patterns with brass liners.

I need some wisdom from the community, should I just bite the bullet and spend few $100 and buy them all? Should I be selective?

If you have the funds it might be a fun and possibly interesting way to make deals on here. I'm not too knowledgeable about them but you never know what you may come across at the market. Worse case you have some cool vintage SAKs in your collection, and honestly they are probably to most useful knife overall(IMO). If you do end up with some more let us know.

Money isnt much an issue nor is arbitrage. I guess I will go next week and make the purchases and post up here.

For those interested the seller is at Exit 1 in Dongmyo (seoul). Walk toward the river and you cant miss the seller. she's got a whole table of Alox.

EDIT: Gym is closed today and its nice out. Get ready for some live pics of the hunt. Im making the treck down right now.

Looks like a good time. You have access to some really great sak's, wish I wasn't a half a world away. Enjoy!

Petah, great catch, and sounds like it is at a good cost too!
