I was out in the flea market and picked up a Cadet with ribbed alox scales for equlivant of 50cents. The springs are bent. Is this worth repairing at all?

YES! YES! YES!
Not only are these very rare and almost impossible to find, a plain silver one sells for about 100 USD on the bay of E.
just send it to Victorinox to fix it for you... just make sure you mark it as sentimental value, or they'll just send you a new Cadet instead.

I would not say they are that rare, but they are hard to find now and it is definitely worth getting repaired. You could send it in to the US or Swiss repair location. I have heard excellent things about the Swiss facility. You could also use the scales and some parts and commission a modder to build you something special with it.

Here is mine I added scissors to.
