Love my Alox Cadet II but really want to have scissors. Cadet replaced my Alox money clip and find the scissors are the only thing I miss. Is there an Alox model with scissors or can an existing SAK be modified to include them? If so, where can I do this at?

+1 for scibeer. He has been recently modding Farmers by adding scissors, as well as the magnifier/Phillips layer. I have not seen him do a Cadet, but it may be possible, given you can find a donor knife for 84mm frame scissors (could be a problem).

Of course, there is an original vintage Vic model with scissors being sold on eBay right now, but you will probably not be able to afford it, I know I can't!

P.S. I am assuming you are looking for something larger than a Classic or a MoneyClip - those are widely available in Alox...

Omaha - have the classic, but just too small for my wants right now.

Who is this Scibeer and how do I reach him. Sounds like the guy I need to talk to.

Here's my Alox with Scissors (Super Pioneer?) that Scibeer did for me. It started life as a Farmer, had the awl replaced with a small blade from a Pioneer Settler and the saw replaced with scissors out of Climber. Send me an email and I will tell you how to get in touch with him.

Scibeer posted some photos here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=489736&page=3

I contacted him by using the email address is in his Bladeforums profile. He's a nice guy and does great work. Here are some photos of one of the knives he sent me:

That would be perfect! I would love a Farmer with scissors instead of the saw for an edc!

I just got an email from Scibeer telling me he's sending out my Farmer w/scissors tomorrow morning. This isn't scissors instead of instead of the saw, but scissors in addition to the saw. I'm very excited about this. The regular ol' farmer was already my favorite knife of everything I own, fixed or folder. With the addition of scissors--OH BOY!

The thing is, I've known this could be done for some time but never inquired because I assumed it would be cost prohibitive. I finally sent Scibeer an email, and was surprised as to how affordable it was for me to get my perfect edc knife. And as others have pointed out, he sure seems like a heck of a guy.

Do it!

I just sent scribeer an email myself about maybe getting a scissors-equipped Farmer. How does it work - do you send him a Farmer and a donor knife for the parts?

Scott - It sounds like you had him create an Alox Huntsman!

Yep. Just about. It's a red one, too. It's gonna kill me when I get that first scratch or nick on the alox. I'll baby it for as long as I can. It won't keep me from using it though.

I sent him my knife, although I got the impression he could have supplied one. You can send him donor knives for the parts, or he will supply them for minimal cost. I had him supply the scissors and the liner/divider that is needed.

You'd think Victorinox would make a knife like this. You know they'd sell

It's a complete beater, but I guess I shouldn't tell you guys that I snagged an Executive Alox with a faded custom logo on it for $3 at a gun show. :D Saves me having to drag my Surge out every time I need a pair of scissors..

How thick is the scissors-equipped Farmer? It is slimmer than a Huntsman, isn't it? I want something that won't be a brick in dress pants pockets.
