Alpha 279 Question

Hi All,

The knife in the link was made in 2003 and only 200 were to be made. The BCCI special projects list states the handle material as "Ivory". But, Ivory....what, colored plastic? Joe H, Larry O, anyone ??????

I have wondered this also.
I have seen a couple on feebay before.
whatabeaut had one, I believe it was ivory colored plastic, but about 2 weeks ago a seller had one listed as "genuine ivory" It sold pretty high.
I have never seen one close up but looked plastic like to me. Also the 2 I remember were the deer tracks model??

I think John meant to thank us for our expertise too. But the Mrs. was probably coming down the hall as he was typing about his new find.

So far, I haven't been snagged. But things may have to settle down for a bit. Tough to explain why one only gets a scarf and fruitcake for Christmas when new yellow boxes are coming in the mail...so I understand John's situation.

...Oh I'm sure John meant to do just that gooser...He realizes the amount of work and research you and I must have put into our anaysis of the scale material on that 279...and don't forget that fruitcake can tend to dull the senses a bit...:rolleyes: :p

I love fruitcake...especially those fruit & nut bars they sell at Xmastime...now there's a real test of a knife...slicing through a frozen fruit/nut bar... ;)

Ok...Ok...Thank you to all :D . You fruitcakes......The MRS was watching one of those food network shows the other day and what do you think it was about.......That's right....fruitcake. Not just any fruitcake; the guy who was making this special fruitcake poured about 2 pints of Jack D over the top of the hot cake when it came out of the oven and let it soak in. Each slice must have had about 2 shots of Jack in it :D . Now that's a fruitcake I might even like :thumbup:
