I had read a earlier post that the Alpha Dorado rosewood is now CM154, the amercian version of AT34, and that any new Alpha Dorado I order will have CM154. I would like that better as 154 is a American steel. Anyone have a recent Alpha Dorado Rosewood that they can check for me? Thanks!

We currently make the Alpha Dorado with 154CM steel, and have been doing so throughout from early 2006 'til the present. You actually hit the nail on the head - we switched to 154CM because it is made in the USA, while ATS-34 is sourced from Japan. The two steels are essentially identical, but we wanted to use American steel. Hope this helps - Jim
