stoped carrying my 97 112 for an rosewood alpha hunter , only problem is the hunter is a little heavy and big for carrying in downtown chicago, was thinking about picking up a alpha dorado .

I carry the Alpha Dorado 271 most all the time. I find it is just right. Not too big and not too small. Hope that helps.

I agree with Jack. The Dorado is a great compromise size. Big enough for just about any everyday use but not as "in your face" as the Alpha Hunter. I really like the leather sheath too.

UPS should be dropping it off at my house tonight.

Model 271 with the ATS-34 steel for $42 with shipping.

Ebay offers some great deals if your patient.

ETA - Delivered New in Box (Clamshell? Plastic thingie?) Guy had about 10 knives listed all as "new buck knife" with a picture of them in thier plastic thingies. If you could ID the knife from the picture, you could get a deal. The 271 started at $35 w/ $7 shipping. I was the only bid.

Anyway, wife is already annoyed with me flipping it open to break it in. This will probably turn into my EDC.

ups droped mine off today , beutiful knife , I really like the way the Buck name and idaho engraveing shows on the blade when closed,im going to order the rosewood moded ,and switch the scales, so I can have the black scales with the ats34 steel, would really love to see this knife offered in the cabelas alaska guide series ,but with the whole knife in the black ,and the rosewood scales I was looking at the calbelas alaska alfa hunter ,but think it would look beter if the stainless handle was black , with the black blade silver handle and rosewood scales ,it looks like theres to much going on ,looks like I have a new carry knife.

been useing my alpha dorado all week ,love this knife, am wishing Bock would make a rubber handle kit like I put on my alpha hunter rosewood folder
