Some of you will have seen this elsewhere so I apologise to you for repeating myself.

This is my favourite knife. It is a hawkbill style made by Harrison Bros and Howson Sheffield. It has fantastic stag handle and still snaps like new. It is about 4 1/8 inches long closed. I think it was made in the very late 1800s or early 1900s. It has Sheffield England on the reverse of the tang so i have learned that this means 1891 or later. Thanks for looking. s-k

Great Knife! Can you show us the back?

Thank-you for your reply Waynorth. I have this scan of the back side. The quality of the scan is not as good as the photos. I'll take some more photos if you like. Thanks again s-k

Nice stag on the back too! If you get a chance, could you scan it with the tang stamp showing?

Hello DaveinNY. Thanks for the reply. All my old Sheffield Hawkbills have 4 pins. I only have 4 so that may not be a representative sample. Will try to post some more this week. s-k

How about I start a Hawkbill thread, and we see what comes up? I'll see if I can find an old one first. If we don't I'll do it!
Where are you located, sk??

GO LIONS!!

Hi Great idea. I have a few other old Hawkbills.

Thank-you Sunnyd. I appreciate your feedback.

I live in Bedford UK. Grey Cup starts about 11.00 here... past my bed time for a school night. Will set the hard-drive recorder.

Wow, that is a great looking Hawkbill! The stag and the steel look top notch. Makes a fellow want to go study Hawkbill history. Apparently the Hawkbill got some consideration as pattern in the old days.

Hopefully it'll be a good game!
The Hawkbill thread is up and running s-k, so why not post this beauty over there??
