Alpha mini hunter: sheath smells funny

Okay Carl, you been smoking the wacky weed again?
 
You have smelled the sheath... but have to tasted the blade? Touch it to you tounge... it tastes like... um blood.:D

Just kidding... it's late here.
 
Now that I think about the whole "chemical tanned leather" issue, maybe smelling my sheath isn't such a good idea. Oh well, back to feet and armpits...
 
Its funny what you find when you start looking deep in the forums , Ive just got my second Alpha both identical sheaths but they smell different and like you said a kind of berry smell , still leather but different .Its the older one of the two ( 2002).
I bet your all sheath sniffing now :rolleyes: Could be worse :D

:D :D ...Not so weird dunc5...A while back we were all sniffin' our 110's as it seemed the older ones smelled different from the newer ones which had a unique "bouquet"...LMAO...Whata bunch huh??...LOL...:eek: :eek: :p
 
OMG!!!! I'm gonna wait for my fiance to be around before I start sniffing my Buck knives and sheaths. That would throw her over the edge.

She already thinks I'm a "geek" over this whole Buckitis. I just tell her at least I am not on the "Little Friends of Neverland Ranch" forum.

I'm not a leather sniffer...but I had a brand-new leather jacket I got in Colombia that smelled bad...(I think it was bad/incomplete curing)...but I do wash all my Nylon Buck sheaths before I "store" them...[they're sitting in a box behind me, along with about a dozen leather sheaths and a stack of yellow boxes]... :)

About eight Buck knives are being used as paperweights on my computer desk here...and my desk drawer is overflowing with all kinds of knives... :rolleyes:

What was this thread about??? :confused:

Too funny! I liked the "110PU" tang stamp...that was fiunny (to me...bad day at work).

My Alaskan 110 smells like polar bear
My El Cajon 277 smells like the ocean
My Idaho 277, potato salad
My Mantis 198 smells like egg roll
My Harley Davidson 95th Anniv 110 leaks oil

Alright, I had to check. My Alpha Mini Hunter sheath smells like leather and the handle smells like wood, so mine apparently didn't come from the "flavored" batch. The best part was when I came upstairs and said to my wife, "here, smell this!" I think she's getting used to the insanity because all she said was, "why is there something on it?", not "what is your problem, why would anyone smell a knife sheath?!"
