when i joined the forum in summer of 2009, many of the metals the guys were discussing were alien to myself. i want to give a big thankyou to all of you that answered my countless questions.my steel knowledge was quite small & since then with tons of help i've got a working info on many newer alloys. or course 154, vg10, d2, & s30 were metals everyone was familiar with. the 3v,m4 duratech 20v, 60v,90v,& 110v were greek to me along with quite a few others.with the help of you forum guys i'm almost out of the dark ages. i have knives in 3v & m4 with zdp189 & 20v on the way. 1095 is still my goto steel with m4 as the all time best performer i.m.h.o. once again i thank you guys for all the assitance .

I joined about the same time as you and we've undoubtedly both learned a lot over the months. This is a great forum with a lot of knowledgeable, helpful people.

Dude, you've come kindda long way, but a lot more ahead...

I've got 363 alloys in the knife steel composition charts and that's not finished obviously... I figure now you can skip around 200 of those but the rest...

gator i bookmarked your interactive steel chart months back & bookmarked your latest updates. thanks because i refer to it all the time.but as you well knowc some of these great looking compositions do'nt always cut good. really depend on the custom guys to try them out & then see what the track record is.
