Already own a 501, but should I get a custom 501 also?

501's are one of my favorite. Stag handles with n/s bolsters and no pins are sweet. I like all the wood combinations also. Great EDC too!!
 
I was thinking though, if I get a custom 501, my other 501 would collect dust. Maybe give it away?
 
You should buy what you want, not what we like... You have to use it...

I would buy one of each if I could... I like dust... There's nothing like a

Custom Buck Knife... :) ;) :thumbup:

There is nothing wrong with owning two of a given model of Buck knife - I bet there are people here who even have three! OH

I just got started on Buck collecting. Single blade lock backs are my favorites. In the past six weeks I've acquired four 500s, a 501, 503, two 112s, and two 110s.

One of each is part of a year series I'm assembling (1994). Some will be re-handled and given as gifts. A couple I'll customize to my tastes.

Still need a '94 505. I'm not even looking at the 506 & 507 at the auction site, they're too much. I'll have to luck into one somewhere.
 
Here's some from the old custom shop... I got them at the swap meet
from a ex-Buck-employee... she wanted $18 for the 501's and if I
bought them all they were $10 each so I bought them all... I collect the
501's... They are Great Knives... Buck did it right on these...

501's...

You know something, you're absolutely right. I like the 501 and sometimes you try to talk yourself out of it for financial reasons but I will be getting another 501.

The fit and finish of the custom shop knives is better than that of the production knives. You can get an S30V blade, also. Recommended.
 
I liked the 501 enough to order a custom on Wednesday. Im thinking ill carry the custom most of the time, and use the normal one in situations where im more likely to lose it (travel) or abuse it (yardwork)
